Teams Icon/Avatar Settings

When you create a new Team in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft will randomly assign a colour for the icon/avatar - this cannot be changed and has no relevance other than asthetics.

You can set a Microsoft Teams team to have its own display image (avatar). The only catch is that only team admins or owners can change the avatar for a Microsoft Teams team.

  1. Open Microsoft Teams.
  2. Sign in with the admin or owner account.
  3. Go to the Teams tab.
  4. Click the more options button next to the team.
  5. Select Manage Team from the context menu.
  6. Go to the Settings tab (if this tab isn’t visible, you are not signed in with the right account)
  7. Expand Team Picture.
  8. Click Change picture and then click Upload picture.
  9. Select a new image from your system.
  10. Click Save.
