If your HP Probook is not powering on when pressing the power button you may need to perform a hard reset and a power drain
How to perform a hard reset
- Remove the Power cable
- Hold down the power button and the F5 button simultaneously for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable and try and power the computer back on.
If the computer is still not powering on proceed with performing a battery power drain.
How to perform a Battery Power Drain
- Disconnect the power cable from the laptop.
- Hold down the Windows + Backspace keys simultaneously while pressing the power button once - continue to hold down the windows and backspace buttons for 15 seconds before releasing.
If successful the computer should power on normally. - Connect the power cable if the computer powers on.
How to perform a BIOS Recovery
Turn the laptop off.
Hold down Windows Key + B.
While holding the keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
Release the Power button but keep holding Windows + B for a few seconds.
The HP BIOS Recovery screen should appear.
Follow the prompts to restore BIOS.
