Keeping Microsoft PowerPoint files under 100MB helps prevent collaboration issues and OneDrive sync problems.
Large files can cause delays when saving or syncing changes, especially in shared environments. They may also fail to upload properly or exceed platform limits, leading to errors, version conflicts, or worst of all—loss of work.
By keeping file sizes small, you ensure smoother performance, faster load times, and more reliable real-time collaboration.
To optimize your file size, we recommend compressing all images by following these steps:
- Select any image in your presentation.
- Go to the "Picture Format" tab in the ribbon.
- Click "Compress Pictures" (in the "Adjust" group).
- In the dialog box:
- Uncheck “Apply only to this picture” to apply compression to all images.
- Choose a resolution:
- Email (96 ppi) – Smallest size, ideal for sharing.
- Web (150 ppi) – Good balance between size and quality.
- Print (220 ppi) – Best for printing, but larger in size.
- For the smallest file, select Email (96 ppi).
- Optional: Tick “Delete cropped areas of pictures” for further size reduction.
- Click OK to apply the compression to all images.
This should help reduce the presentation file size enough to prevent further sync or corruption issues.
