If you are printing to PDF from Revit through Remote Desktop host in Windows 7 you may observe that fonts in the created PDF look stretched.
This is a known bug with Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection on Windows7 and Microsoft previously released a hotfix to address this, however now that Windows 7 is end of life, the Hotfix has been removed from the Microsoft Download Site. The recommended solution from Microsoft is to upgrade to Windows 10.
- Here is the information from Autodesk about this issue: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Revit-Text-stretched-when-printing-to-PDF.html
We have made the hotfix available and can be downloaded and installed following the steps below:
1. Download this file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mg3xtoszbzaxfnf/Windows6.1-KB2768741-x64.msu?dl=0
2. Double click the file and follow the wizard to install the hotfix
3. Restart your computer. As you may have noticed, for your protection the "Shutdown" and "Restart" options are removed from the Start menu when connected remotely via Remote Desktop. In order to restart you need to close all programs, then press ALT + F4 to open the "Shutdown Dialog" then select "Restart" (Be very careful not to select any other option or you may need to go to the office and turn your computer back on!!!!)
