How to ​uninstall the uniFLOW Smart Client

If you're experiencing issues such as print jobs not reaching the printer or have recently changed your email address, it's often necessary to uninstall and reinstall uniFLOW SmartClient to ensure proper functionality and connectivity.


On a Windows Computer:

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Click on the gear icon to open the Settings menu
  3. In the Settings window, select Apps
  4. Select Apps & features, scroll through the list or use the search bar to find uniFLOW SmartClient
  5. Select uniFLOW SmartClient and then click the Uninstall button
  6. Open File Explorer 
  7. Delete all contents of the SmartClient Folder if the folder exists.
    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\NT-Ware\SmartClient
  8. Restart the computer after the uninstall has completed
Delete the Windows print cache
  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, then press Enter.

  2. Locate Print Spooler.

  3. Right-click Print Spooler and select Stop.

  4. Open File Explorer and go to:

    C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
  5. Delete all files in the PRINTERS folder.

  6. Go back to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.


On a Mac Computer:

  1. Ensure you are logged in with an administrator account.

  2. Quit uniFLOW SmartClient by right-clicking its icon in the menu bar and selecting Quit.

  3. Open Launchpad > Other > Terminal.

  4. In the Terminal window, type the following command and press Enter:

    sudo bash /etc/smartclient/uninstall-smartclient.bash
  5. Enter your admin password when prompted.
    NOTE: you won’t see any characters appear—no asterisks, dots, or text. This is normal behavior in macOS Terminal for security reasons. 

  6. Wait for the uninstallation process to complete.
